Firearm Handling Module

Objective

This module reinforces and builds upon the skills and knowledge acquired in the previous two training modules. Participants will focus on advanced firearm handling techniques, including reloading drills, shooting on the move, and simulated stress drills.

Module Outline:

Review of Modules 1 & 2 (Key Concepts & Skills)

  • The module begins with a brief recap of firearm safety, marksmanship principles, and basic handling techniques covered in Modules 1 & 2. This ensures a strong foundation for the advanced skills to be learned.
  • A Q&A session allows participants to address any lingering questions or concerns.

Reloading Drills (Speed & Tactical Reloads)

  • This section introduces reloading techniques, including speed reloads for rapid magazine changes and tactical reloads for maintaining situational awareness during reloading.
  • Instructors will demonstrate proper reloading techniques, followed by hands-on practice modules for participants to master these skills under supervision. Instructors will provide feedback and coaching to improve reloading speed and efficiency.

Shooting on the Move

  • Participants will learn techniques for shooting while moving forward, laterally, and diagonally. Practical exercises will develop shooting skills while maintaining mobility. Drills will progressively increase in difficulty, starting with stationary shooting and gradually transitioning to shooting on the move.
  • The focus will be on balance, control, and accuracy while engaging targets in dynamic situations.

Simulated Stress Drills

  • This section emphasizes the importance of simulated stress drills in preparing for real-world scenarios. Instructors will introduce stress-inducing factors such as time pressure, physical exertion, and distractions.
  • Scenario-based exercises will simulate high-stress situations, such as home intrusions or active shooter scenarios. Debriefing sessions after each drill will analyze performance, identify areas for improvement, and provide valuable feedback.

Conclusion

The module concludes with a recap of the training objectives and accomplishments. Participants will have the opportunity to share insights and lessons learned. Closing remarks from the instructor will emphasize the importance of continued practice and skill development for firearm safety and proficiency.

Safety First

Safety remains the top priority throughout the module. Instructors will closely monitor participants’ adherence to safety protocols and intervene as necessary to ensure a safe learning environment. Ample breaks will be provided to prevent fatigue and maintain focus during intensive training activities.
